The Old Coastguard Cornwall

The Old Coastguard Mousehole Cornwall

Eat drink and sleep with stunning sea views, welcoming staff and a great atmosphere.

The Old Coastguard is a seaside hotel, restaurant / bistro and bar in the picturesque Cornish fishing village of Mousehole.

The hotel offers fourteen bedrooms with comfortable beds and nearly all looking out over the sparkling Cornish sea, with views across to St. Michael's Mount and the Lizard.

The dining room and outside terrace sit atop a tropical garden that slopes down to the harbour wall and offer a beautiful location to eat or drink.  The food is well executed, delicious and simple, following the seasons and drawing from local produce and sea.

The drinks list is wide and diverse offering great options for everyone including beers, carafes and bottles of wine, decent sized spirit measures, local unsweetened apple juice for children and of course a choice of hot drinks.  All can be enjoyed inside looking out of the large picture windows or outside on the terrace.

This really is a fantastic place to relax and unwind.

For those of you with dogs The Old Coastguard is very dog friendly offering dog friendly accommodation in Cornwall and a dog friendly place to eat and drink with your dog in the bar area, on the sun deck or outside terrace.

The Old Coastguard is open every day all year (except Christmas and some days in January) and look forward to welcoming you as well as your friends, dogs or children.

Ale & Anchor Festival

Don’t miss the end of summer party held in the beautiful gardens of The Old Coastguard each in early September. Ale & Anchor is very much a family-friendly weekend: alongside non-stop music there is traditional garden games, face painting, a puppet show and stand-up comedy for adults in the afternoon.  Definitely one of the September things to do in Cornwall not to be missed! And even more of a bonus entry is free of charge.  Please contact Frances Ford on email frances@eatdrinksleep.co.uk or telephone 01736 731 222 for more information.

EAT

The traditional Brasserie menu includes fresh fish and seafood brought into nearby Newlyn harbour, Cornish beef and poultry, game from local estates and cheeses from some of Britain's best dairies. You can enjoy your food at scrubbed pine or oak tables on the Upper Deck with views to St. Clement's Isle, on the Sun Deck on comfy sofas with just a pane of glass between you and the palm tree lined gardens or on the terrace looking down at the sun-dappled sea.

A varied menu is available together with a Prix Fixe menu offering £16.50 for two courses at lunch and £18.50 for two courses at supper (from Monday to Saturday).

The Old Coastguard is listed in The Good Food Guide, the Red Michelin Guide and was named County Dining Pub of the Year by The 2013 Good Pub Guide.
