Charlestown Beach Cornwall

Plaidy Beach is a small sand and rock beach backed by steep cliffs near to Looe in Cornwall.  Best visited at mid to low tide as at high tide very little of the beach is left.  Facilities are in Looe which is about a mile away on the Coast Path and car parking is limited it is suggested you park at Looe or Millendreath. (the wak from either direction is very steep in places). Plaidy Beach is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall all year, there are no seasonal dog restrictions.

Lantivet Bay Polperro is a remote beach with difficult access on the Coast Path between Polruan and Polperro.  The beach is completely covered at high tide and has no facilities, you need to walk along the Coast Path to get to it with car parking at Polruan or Lansallos.

Coombe Haven is a small National Trust cove near Fowey which is not very accessible – you have to walk about 15 minutes through a steep wooded valley.

Par Sands beach is between Fowey and St Austell. A large sandy beach backed by grassy sand dunes and distant views of the Roseland Peninsula and old china clay works.  Par Beach is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall all year. 

Hallane Beach Video

Hallane Beach Cornwall is a small rock and pebble beach accessed via steep stone steps and backed by cliffs with a lovely waterfall to one side. The beach is only accessed by a considerable walk through the village and wooded valley. Hallane is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall all year.

Polstreath

Polstreath beach is a small sand and pebble cove and is not an easy beach to visit. The beach is accessed by a ten minute walk along the Coast Path from Mevagissey and then via steps. You can enjoy views towards Fowey and Chapel Point. Polstreath beach is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall and allows dogs all year. Park in Mevagissey there are no facilities at Polstreath beach.

Portmelleon Beach

Portmelleon beach in Cornwall allows dogs all year and is a small sandy beach beside Portmellon village.  There is very limited parking on the street in the village or you could park in Mevagissey and walk along the coast path to Portmellon. 

Vault Beach

Vault beach is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall which allows dogs all year. It is not an easy beach to visit, but if you are walking the Coast Path could be worth a stop off. To reach Vault you need to take considerable walk,  either along the coast path from Gorran Haven or the footpath from Lamlefra.  You can park at either of these places. 

Hemmick Beach

Hemmick Beach is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall which is accessed by a walk along a footpath through fields or along narrow lanes from the National Trust car park at Penare.

Porthluney Beach

Porthluney Beach or Caerhays Beach is next to Caerhays Castle in Cornwall. Parking is at Carehays Castle. Porthluney is a dog friendly beach in Cornwall and dogs are allowed all year.

Carne Beach

Carne Beach on the Roseland Peninsula is a sand and shale beach with rocks on both sides and Nare Head rising 300 feet above the beach. Carne beach is a dog friendly beach all year although note dogs must be kept on a lead on the beach in the summer months.

Downderry Beach
