Padstow Cornwall is a pretty bustling harbour town and holiday resort built on a hillside with beautiful views over the Camel Estuary. The smells filling the Padstow streets from the many restaurants, cafes and bakerys are delicious, a mixture of local seafood, pasties, fish and chips and cake - delightful. You are spoiled for choice for food in Padstow - the Old Ship Hotel serves delicious seafood fresh from Padstow harbour along with many other local delights and has a friendly bar.

The harbour in the centre of Padstow Cornwall is attractive to look at and good to watch the boats sailing in and out. The winding streets of Padstow are edged by attractive stone cottages with slate roofs and some buildings dating back to the Middle Ages make their way from the harbour. The busy Padstow harbour is still used by fishermen and you can see their boats coming in and out of the harbour. Look out for the delights of the fresh local fish in one of the many fish restaurants, shops or fish and chip shops (and yes there are some not owned by Rick Stein if you look hard enough! be brave, break from the crowds). A boat taxi runs across the estuary to the village and beach of Rock Cornwall on the other side. When the tide is out the beach at Rock is a large sandy beach. There are rugged headlines around Padstow and lots of beautiful beaches nearby. View our more about Padstow page for information.

Padstow gets very busy in peak season and is probably best visited at quieter times if you can. If not embrace the crowds and go with the flow.
