Penlee House Gallery PenzancePenlee House Penzance Cornwall is a Victorian House set in attractive gardens and is home to the historic art collections of Penzance Town Council, Penwith District Council and the Newlyn Art Gallery. Penlee House Gallery has a Cornish history museum and holds changing exhibitions which usually focus on Cornwall, the historic art of West Cornwall and often include the world famous ‘Newlyn School’ artists, such as Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes, Walter Langley and ‘Lamorna’ Birch, who lived in the area from 1880 to 1940.

Penlee House Cornwall Penlee House Penzance Cornwallalso holds a permanent collection of paintings by artists of the ‘Newlyn School’ and Lamorna Group, such as The Rain it Raineth Every Day by Normwan Garstin and School is Out by Elizabeth Forbes (please note the display changes as paintings rotate). Penlee House Gardens Penzance Cornwall Penlee House museum looks at Cornish life and archaeology and presents over 6000 years of West Cornwall history. The museum is child friendly and has activities and games for children. You are also able to view thousands of photographic archives of Cornwall via a computer terminal.

Penlee House has a licensed café overlooking the park with an area to sit outside if the weather is nice. There is also a gift / book shop.

Facilities offered by Penlee House are ramped / lift access throughout, toilets and adapted toilet, Nappy changing facilities and 3 disabled badge parking spaces. There is a fee to enter the exhibitions except on Saturdays which are free.
