Perranporth Cornwall

Perranporth Cornwall has an amazing three mile long golden sandy Cornish beach fringed by sand dunes. Perranporth beach is enjoyed by families, beach goers and popular with surfers. There are lots of benches overlooking the beach for those who wish to sit and take in the spectacular views. Perranporth Beach is one of the few beaches allowing dogs all year round.

Perranporth Cornwall has a number of restaurants, cafes and pubs as well as a good selection of surf accessory and clothes shops. Perranporth also has in town supermarkets, newsagents and gift shops plus others. There is a golf course, pretty boating lake and mini golf. Perranporth beach is lifeguarded in the summer months.

If you are looking for accommodation in Perranporth then nearby Perran Sands Holiday Park in Cornwall has excellent facilities and a good choice of accommodation including modern caravans, beach houses, fun glamping options and camping and caravan pitches. They are also a pet friendly holiday park in Cornwall.

There are public toilets by Perranporth beach in the centre of the village and on the Council Car Park.

From Perranporth there is excellent cliff top walking in both directions. On the Perranporth cliff is a sun dial made from local granite and set to Cornish time - 20 minutes behind GMT!

Look out for the large St Piran's Day celebrations held in Perranporth every year in March. For more details on this and other events around Perranporth see our Cornwall Calendar of Events.

There is lots of parking in Perranporth all within easy walking distance from the centre. In summer I would opt for the carpark which opens next to the Co-op just off the round-a-bout at the bottom of the high Street on the Newquay side, or the Council carpark (turn right opposite the co-op with co-op on your left). In winter you may be able to park on the street or go for the Council Car Park. (I would avoid the car park by the beach in the centre as spaces are tight which can lead to bangs and scratches and in strong tides it can flood. Also there has been controversy over the unfair issue of parking tickets)

If you are looking for a day out near Perranporth then Healey's Cyder Farm is only a short drive away and is a fun place to visit for a day or few hours whatever the weather. They have tractor rides, animals to see and pet, restaurant, viewing area where you can see the Cyder being made and best of all you can try some of their delicious cyders and juices at the free sampling bar.
