Cancer Research Art and Craft Exhibition
Wednesday 1st August to Friday 17th August 2018
Cape Cornwall Art and Crafts exhibition is a fantastic exhibition which is held every year at Cape Cornwall School in St Just in aid of Cancer Research and is usually held for just over 2 weeks in August daily from 10.00am - 9pm (5pm on the final day), reasonable entry fee of £1 for adults and 50p for children applies. This exhibition is a real must see bringing together 3 rooms full of local crafts which includes oil paintings, ceramics, jewellery - beads and silver, wood craft including beautiful turned pieces and carvings, photographs, and a variety of other items including some beautiful handmade rugs. An exhibition to see and great for buying presents, starting Christmas shopping early or treating yourself.
The Preview Evening is on Tuesday 31st July 2018 at 7.00pm. Entry fee for the preview will be in the region of £4 and includes a glass of wine and delicious light buffet. Pay on the door. Whats on for foodies this weekend in Cornwall. Pendeen Farmers Market brings together local producers in West Cornwall who provide affordable food from producers who care. A great event in Cornwall. This is a twice monthly indoor market run by volunteers and offers quality fresh, seasonal food on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 10am to 1pm. Parking is easy and free and the local buses stop near by. In the summer the famous open top bus (Explorer 300) stops in Pendeen. You can hop off, shop and then hop on the next bus. Easy! Centuries ago, the Cove was at the centre of the pilchard fishing industry and also had a notorious reputation as a base for smugglers and wreckers. Today Sennen is known for its RNLI lifeboat station, for the glorious west facing sweep of Whitesand Bay, for its rugged scenery and great surf. Very much at the heart of the local community, Sennen Market opened in May 2009 to provide an outlet for the areas wide range of local produce. The market was voted as Cornwalls Farmers Market of the year 2010. Hugely popular with tourists in high season, the market is also a focus for the local community as a meeting place for residents of all ages.
