Indoor and outdoor weather permitting, farmers market event in Cornwall. Facing the Atlantic and a mile from Lands End, Sennen is the most westerly village in the country. Centuries ago, the Cove was at the centre of the pilchard fishing industry and also had a notorious reputation as a base for smugglers and wreckers. Today Sennen is known for its RNLI lifeboat station, for the glorious west facing sweep of Whitesand Bay, for its rugged scenery and great surf. Very much at the heart of the local community, Sennen Market opened in May 2009 to provide an outlet for the areas wide range of local produce. The market was voted as Cornwalls Farmers Market of the year 2010. Hugely popular with tourists in high season, the market is also a focus for the local community as a meeting place for residents of all ages. With all sorts of delicious things to eat, the stallholders at Sennen Farmers Market offer a variety of local food, plants and herbs, cards, jewellery, wood carving and other Cornish crafts. One of the great local market events in Cornwall
