Whats on in Cornwall this weekend for foodies. Pendeen Farmers Market brings together local producers in West Cornwall who provide affordable food from producers who care. Fun event in Cornwall. This is a twice monthly indoor market at Pendeen near St Just run by volunteers and offers quality fresh, Cornish seasonal food on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 10am to 1pm. Parking is easy and free and the local buses stop near by. In the summer the famous open top bus (Explorer 300) stops in Pendeen. You can hop off, shop and then hop on the next bus. Easy! The bus ride is a great fun thing to do in Cornwall and a stop at the market provides you with great Cornish produce along the way. What's on in Cornwall this weekend for those who love great fresh food. Helston Farmers Market is the largest of its kind within Cornwall. There are around 45 producers providing a wide variety of quality foods ranging from fresh vegetables, free range chicken, cakes and chutneys, seafood and speciality teas. Helston Farmers Market also tries to support local charities and there is a different charity stall there each month. The market is held at The Old Cattle Market in Coronation Park, Helston. As well as the market there is a boating lake, cafe, children's play area and skate park - added to the live music which takes place within Helston Farmers Market this provides a great event in Cornwall for all the family. There is free parking nearby and a pay and display car park on site. Helston Farmers Market runs from 9.30am - 1pm.

The Regimental Museum is an ideal place to visit for people who like historical events in Cornwall. Last year the museum embarked on an ambitious project to collect 9,687 handmade poppies - one for each DCLI servicemen and all other Cornishmen killed during active service in the First World War. The handmade poppies collected through the museum's community project are to be used to create a special exhibition at Bodmin Keep, marking the centenary of the end of the First World War in November 2018. The exhibition opens on the 4th November, and will run until the end of the year. Indoor and outdoor, weather permitting, farmers market event in Cornwall. Facing the Atlantic and a mile from Lands End, Sennen Cornwall is the most westerly village in the country. Centuries ago, the Cove was at the centre of the pilchard fishing industry and also had a notorious reputation as a base for smugglers and wreckers. Today Sennen is known for its RNLI lifeboat station, for the glorious west facing sweep of Whitesand Bay, for its rugged scenery and great surf. Very much at the heart of the local community, Sennen Market opened in May 2009 to provide an outlet for the areas wide range of local produce. The market was voted as Cornwalls Farmers Market of the year 2010. Hugely popular with tourists in high season, the market is also a focus for the local community as a meeting place for residents of all ages. With all sorts of delicious things to eat, the stallholders at Sennen Farmers Market offer a variety of local food, plants and herbs, cards, jewellery, wood carving and other Cornish crafts. fireworks display on the 3rd November in Truro. The Tremorvah Playing Fields Group, in association with Truro City Council are holding their annual bonfire and fireworks display. Children can make a Guy Fawkes and bring it along to be judged. The event will raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance and Penhaligon's Friends. Gates open at 5pm with the fire lit at 5.45pm and fireworks set off at 6.45pm.

Big firework display in Cornwall - This year firefighters at Falmouth Community Fire Station will set off £8000 worth of fireworks to music and are supporting local charities. They are really keen for members of the public to attend organised events, as fireworks can be very dangerous and no matter how careful you are, accidents can still happen. By coming along to an organised display you get to see great fireworks and everyone has a great time in a safe, controlled environment. The firework display will take place at Falmouth Cricket Club. Gates will open at 6pm, with the fireworks being set off an hour later. The entry fee is £4 for adults and £2 for children aged 12 and under, who must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Sempervivums will be the subject of this first lecture. There will be an opportunity to purchase plants from a local nursery after the lectures, which are free for CGS members. The 2017 Macmillan Christmas Fair at The Eden Projects Bakery. Main Day Thursday 16th November and Preview Evening Wednesday 15th November. One of Cornwall's largest and most vibrant Christmas fairs returns to the Eden Project this November, aiming to raise the largest single amount for Macmillan in Cornwall this year. For two days in November the Eden Kitchen, between the two Biomes, will play host to a twinkling and glorious selection of Christmas gifts, home accessories, stocking fillers, clothing, jewellery, food and drink. With the organisers purposefully rotating stallholders every year, there will be something to suit every taste and budget, with some stalls making their first ever appearance in Cornwall. Stalls will offer a mix of superb gifts, decorative pieces, stocking fillers, jewellery, food, clothes and childrens toys & clothes. 15% of all stallholders takings go in aid of the best of causes, Macmillan Cancer Support. It's a free event in Cornwall, held entirely under cover here within the Exhibition Halls at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre, Wadebridge. There's plenty of free parking on site. There will be plenty of farm animals that you can get up close to and a food and farming educational discovery zone where you can learn more about local agriculture and food production. There will be opportunity to 'Have a Go' at things like milking a (mock!) cow and grooming a pony. It'll be one of the great fun things to do in Cornwall this weekend for all of the family. It'll also be a great place to kick off your Christmas in Cornwall shopping. With an array of Cornish food and drink producers on hand to show you how they create their quality products, with chance to try and buy their delicacies. There will also be craft stalls selling fantastic locally created gifts. There'll be pop-up cafe selling food and drink as well. The event incorporates the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show, which has been running for 137 years. It's all about competitions. The packed prize schedule includes cattle and sheep showing, produce, craft and cookery classes. There are competitive classes for children, local schools, WI and Young Farmers' Clubs. Due to bad weather the City of Lights procession 2017 has been postponed and will probably take place in January. The Christmas lights will be turned on at 18.45pm in Victoria Square on 29th November 2017 at the start of the Reindeer Parade. Nothing heralds the start of Christmas in Cornwall like the Truro City of Lights Procession which this year will start at 7pm. The procession is a fantastic display of festive lights and handmade tissue lanterns handmade and carried by professional artists, Cornish school children and local community and youth groups which makes its way through the Truro city streets. Each year is themed, The event includes the official switch on of Truro's Christmas lights, plus music and dance. This is a an extremely popular Christmas event in Cornwall, often attended by 25,000 people - families with small children are advised by the organisers to avoid Lemon Quay and Boscawen Street which can get very busy.

Commemorative event in Cornwall at the Living Remembrance Weekend with the Cornwall World War 1 reenactment group. On Remembrance weekend, visit the historic Bodmin Barracks and meet World War 1 soldiers from Cornwall's regiment, the Duke of Cornwall's Light infantry. Join them in their encampment, find out about what it was like to fight in World War 1 and see their authentic weapons and uniforms. Then explore the amazing World War 1 collection in Cornwall's Regimental Museum inside the historic Victorian Keep and see original film footage from the Battle of the Somme taken in 1916. On Remembrance Sunday morning at 9.30am you'll also be able to see the World War 1 soldiers taking part in the Remembrance service at the war memorial outside the Keep. You can also bring along your family photographs and World War 1 memorabilia for our experts to identify. 12th November 10.30am to 4.30pm and 13th November 9.30am to 4.30pm. 18 and under FREE, Adults £5 for an annual museum pass. Traditional Christmas event in Cornwall. The beautiful Christmas Lights at Padstow are switched on Sunday 27th November 2016. The Padstow Christmas Lights will be turned on from about 6pm. To accompany the switch on and get everyone in the Christmas spirit there is usually a carol service performed by the Padstow Carolers on the band stand. The Padstow Christmas Lights are a real Christmas treat, there are pretty lights all around the harbour and floating in the harbour water taking various forms including a whale, boat and Christmas trees to name a few. The Padstow Christmas lights are a great example of what's on in Cornwall at Christmas - worth a visit!

Made in Cornwall Christmas Fair 30th November to 4th December 2016. A real Christmas event in Cornwall for all the family showing locally made and produced crafts and products - all Cornish of course! Held in a large marquee in Truro stall holders sell only products which are made in Cornwall and have been awarded the Made in Cornwall Logo and so it is a great opportunity to see some of the excellent Cornish products including crafts, art and food and drink. A great opportunity to do some Christmas shopping and find some unusual Christmas gifts from food hampers filled with gourmet delights to beautiful jewellery. The popular Fair offers the chance for members of the public to buy genuine Cornish gifts and food for Christmas. Alongside the established favourites there will be several new faces belonging to young artists and artisans. In all 100 local businesses will be taking part.

The Made In Cornwall Christmas Fair will be held on the Piazza in Truro and will be open from 10.00am to 9.00pm on Wednesday 30th November to incorporate the late night shopping evening, from 10.00am to 5.00pm from Thursday through to Saturday, and from 10.30am to 4pm on Sunday. Admission is free.

Get Christmas in Cornwall off to a magical start - Malletts are proud to once again be supporting this truly magical FREE Christmas event for Truro, where thousands line the streets of the City Centre to welcome Father Christmas and six of his wonderful reindeer, who fly in especially at Malletts request. Be nice and early to enjoy the ambiance of the evening as the real reindeer will be on display in Victoria Square from 6pm, and they usually have some baby reindeer for the cute factor. Father Christmas will be joined in the sleigh by the winner from our badge competition, now that is a once in a life-time prize. The parade around Truro will be led by the Camborne Youth Band and and members from Jason Thomas Performing Arts dressed as Santas who will bring laughter and wonder to the festivities of the night. Get up close to the reindeer at 6pm in the holding area before they whisk Santa off in the parade about 6.45pm The event is totally free with collection buckets for CHSW.
