One of the local village regattas unique to the River Fal Estuary, Loe Beach Regatta has been taking place continuously since the 19th Century, with the exception of the war years. NEW FOR 2014 was the new "White Sail" class for ALL types of cruising yacht! Just turn up on the day, enter on the water, collect your sailing instructions and start racing! Race Officer Richard Freeborn says "Racing is the very best way to get to know your boat, to find out how she handles, how well she sails, what you can do to make her go faster, and most importantly it gives you and your crew a great opportunity to work together with the added fun of being in a race. And what could be better than finishing the day with one of our famous Regatta Teas on Loe Beach, and maybe even pick up a prize!".

Liberty boats will be there to ferry competitors to and from shore after racing, just pick up any mooring off Loe Beach, or anchor. We also have newly revised courses, with all racing now taking place in the top of the Carrick Roads. Regatta Teas are available from the marquee after the race. See the website for Loe Beach Regatta entry details.

Indoor and outdoor, weather permitting, farmers market event in Cornwall. Facing the Atlantic and a mile from Lands End, Sennen is the most westerly village in the country. Centuries ago, the Cove was at the centre of the pilchard fishing industry and also had a notorious reputation as a base for smugglers and wreckers. Today Sennen is known for its RNLI lifeboat station, for the glorious west facing sweep of Whitesand Bay, for its rugged scenery and great surf. Very much at the heart of the local community, Sennen Market opened in May 2009 to provide an outlet for the areas wide range of local produce. The market was voted as Cornwalls Farmers Market of the year 2010. Hugely popular with tourists in high season, the market is also a focus for the local community as a meeting place for residents of all ages. If you are wondering whats on in Cornwall this weekend consider the Falmouth Classics 2016 which offers Good Company, Good Entertainment, Good Sailing and Free Berthing. Falmouth Classics steps up a gear for 2016 as the camaraderie of the best classic boat rallies returns to Falmouth. Building on the success of the expansion to its new three day format, Falmouth Classics brings competitors together in one area in close proximity to the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival.

We welcome all classic sailing boats to the whole regatta and we welcome classic motor launches and any other boats with classic hulls, powered by whatever means they were designed for, to our classic parade and to our shoreside entertainment functions. This puts Falmouth in the top league with other major classics regattas on both sides of the English Channel. It gives an added incentive for a boat owner to include Falmouth in their summer programme. Competitors will be berthed together at the Falmouth Haven Marina near Customs House Quay with larger boats moored close by. If you need further information you can contact us on info@falmouthclassics.org.uk or phone Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on 01326 312126.

With all sorts of delicious things to eat, the stallholders at Sennen Farmers Market offer a variety of local food, plants and herbs, cards, jewellery, wood carving and other Cornish crafts. Every Tuesday 9am to 12 noon

You won't know where you are going until we get there but I promise there will be something you haven't seen before. The Paddling Jackdaw Photo Safari - Meet at the fountain in St. Anthony's Gardens, opposite the Jubilee Pool. In this year's Photo Safari for Golowan, we'll be taking on the 'Never Ending Story' theme by following a chronological trail through some highlights of Penzance history. As usual participants can pick up photographic hints and tips as well as learning a little about Penzance. Read more about Penzance Cornwall
