The Gurnard's Head Cornwall

The Gurnard's Head Cornwall

A luxurious dining pub with rooms on Cornwall's stunning Atlantic coast between St. Ives and St. Just.

Whether you are a walker out with your dog wanting refuelling or a foodie wanting to linger over a long lunch or supper The Gurnard’s Head offers a fresh and seasonal menu with simple, earthy and delicious food which suits all.  You can enjoy your food at the tables in the bar, warmed by log fires or in the red and blue dining room. On warmer days you can eat in the huge atmospheric enclosed garden.

Stop off for a drink or accompany your meal with a good selection of drinks including beers, wine, sherries and local apple juice - all chosen with care.
The Gurnard’s Head believes in supporting the local community, source produce with sustainability in mind, and set prices with local customers in mind, not the extended tourist season.

You can also sleep.  The Gurnard’s Head offers welcoming rooms equipped with the most comfortable Vi-Spring beds and views to gorse covered moorland or to the foaming Atlantic.

Switch off in the soulful embrace of one of Britain’s most awe-inspiring landscapes, a landscape which has changed little over centuries.

If you have your four legged friend with you then The Gurnard’s Head is an excellent dog friendly pub in Cornwall to visit.  Dogs are welcome in the bar area and garden and they offer dog friendly accommodation in Cornwall so your dog can enjoy a holiday too.

The Gurnard’s Head is open every day, except 24th and 25th December with lunch served from 12.30pm until 2.30pm (Sunday 12.00pm) and 6.30pm until 9.00pm (Summer 6.00pm). For more information visit The Gurnard’s Head Website telephone them on 01736 796 928 or email

Check out their sister hotel and Bistro Pub The Old Coastguard in the delightful village of Mousehole.

The bedrooms offer the best Vi-Spring and are about melting into one of the books that lie around the building, listening to a Radio 4 play on the Roberts radio or staring out to the sea or to the sheep flecked moors.  Enjoying the fresh flowers, White Company toiletries, local art and warm, Welsh blankets.
Breakfast is geared to set you up for the day with Cornish yoghurt, house-made jams, local apple juice, toast you make when you want it and a choice of kippers or a full English breakfast. See below for special offers.
