One of the great things to do in Cornwall this weekend for gardeners and those who love flowers! Held at the stunning Boconnoc Estate, near Lostwithiel, the event was first staged in the late nineteenth century and has continued to run every year since - with occasional breaks for two world wars, petrol rationing and - in 1947 - severe snow. At one time focused mainly on daffodils, it now showcases a wealth of Cornish springtime shrubs and flowers. Dogs on leads welcome. It will also be a great family event Cornwall too, with a variety of attractions of interest to children and nature based activities. Over 100 trade stalls. Entrance fees apply. The Keep, Bodmin, Cornwall PL31 1EG - North Cornwall Visit the I am a Rifleman is a touring exhibition and discover some extraordinary story of soldiers from Britain's largest infantry Regiment; The Rifles.
The phrase 'I am a Rifleman' is used by all members of the Regiment, from a senior officer to a new recruit, to show their loyalty, pride and comradery to The Rifles. Twelve individual stories in the exhibition feature Riflemen from all different ranks and backgrounds, ranging from medal recipients to injured soldiers. Highlights of the exhibition include a watch from an incident with a Conspicuous Gallantry Cross recipient, the body armour of a Military Cross recipient and the personal photographs from an injured Rifleman on his road to recovery. The Rebellious Sounds Archive is creating the very first oral archive of women's activism stories from across the South West. Launching on Wednesday 14th February at the Exeter Phoenix, with an interactive listening booth that houses the oral stories, this insightful campaign aims to collect over 40 women's stories.

The Tremayne Hall, Mylor Bridge, Falmouth, Cornwall - West Cornwall Outdoor cycling event in Cornwall taking place at the Penryn Campus near Falmouth. It's that exciting adrenalin fuelled time of year again! Local bike club Carrick Riders, in collaboration with Falmouth Cycles, Falmouth University and the University of Exeter, are hosting the Falmouth Urban Downhill mountain bike race on Sunday 17 April at the Penryn Campus, Penryn, TR10 9FE. With over 100 racers expected to ride a fast and furious downhill urban course you're guaranteed an amazing day full of thrills and spills watching some of the Southwest's best mountain bikers ride the course flying down stairs at breakneck speeds whilst jumping high into the air over the many ramps. Practice sessions begin at 9.30am with the races scheduled to start from 12.30pm. From novice to semi-pro riders there is a category for everyone.
